PRIMARY COORDINATOR

Dear Parents,

Time has flown by and there have been many different events that have taken place during this school term. Thank you for your support, for the various activities you might have been involved in with your children. It has been an incredibly busy term with teachers and students celebrating Literacy week, Science week, Daffodil Day, Father’s day and the School Concert.

Parent –Teacher Interviews:

This year our Parent-Teacher Interviews were held from 18th – 20th September. If due to unavoidable circumstances you were unable to make it to the interview please organise another time with your child’s teacher early next term.

Interim reports will be mailed to you during the school holidays. I would like to encourage all students to use their time wisely during their holidays: enjoy, relax and keep reading.

NAPLAN

All students in Year 3 and 5 sat the NAPLAN Tests in Literacy and Numeracy. Families would have received their own personal report about their child’s achievement in Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation and Numeracy. At Sirius College, we make every effort to ensure that our programs and curriculum cover those elements of the tests that are assessed and reported on. No matter what level of achievement they are at we will continue to work with the students to improve their learning outcomes. Parents can rest assured that we will put the data we have, to good use by supporting our students to achieve their best.

Athletics Carnival

We have an important event coming up early next term, the school ‘’Athletics Carnival” on 20th October. Please keep this day free to attend, as the presence of parents on these days boost the confidence of the students. Please be there to encourage them and cheer for them.

I will be away on long service leave next term and would like to take this opportunity to thank students, parents/guardians and all staff for their support and wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! I look forward to seeing you all in 2018.
